Busitema University Fund (SMC) Limited
Busitema University Fund (SMC) Limited is a private arm of the University that started operating on 3rd October 2018 and Busitema University Council is its sole owner. The Tenure has stood up for a taste of time i.e. for Four (4) years. The company is located in Busia, Busitema sub-county in Busitema University grounds along the Tororo - Kampala Highway. Prof . Mary Okwakol and Mr.Ajer Basil are the pioneers and have played a significant role in the betterment of the company.
The company’s purpose is to utilize the assets of the University to generate revenues to subsidize government funding. The company manages the University’s extensive assets which include; properties, projects, and enterprises either directly or indirectly through subsidiaries.
Authority
The University Council appointed the Board of Directors, which consists of individuals with varying qualifications, experiences, and expertise as well as independent knowledge of the business and its operating environment, all with an emphasis on Gender diversity, to oversee the company.

Successes
Compared to the previous huge budget the university was operating, the company has permitted the University to cut its expenditures on vehicle service and maintenance drastically.
The university has developed and approved several projects through the company as a step toward becoming self-sufficient.
